Keep Your Mind Sharp

In order to keep your mind sharp, the nutrition researcher says to eat brain-boosters such as berries, caffeinated coffee, cocoa powder, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Berries: One study found that eating two or more 1/2 cup servings a week delays the onset of Alzheimer's by 2.5 years.

Caffeinated Coffee: Experts think that coffee has a substance that protects the brain, so aim for 2-3 cups a day.

Cocoa Powder: The antioxidants in cocoa powder may help boost your thinking skills. Try mixing 1 Tbsp cocoa powder with milk or sprinkle into coffee.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids: These fats help control inflammation and over time, inflammation can lead to cognitive decline. Eat 2-3 servings per week of fatty fish like salmon or take a fish oil supplement.
