What it Means to be a Mom

What does it mean to be a Mom?

Being a Mom is way more than a title. It is who you are. If it wasn't for your kids, you wouldn't be a Mom. Literally. Before you were a Mom, you were just you. Now you are more than that. Being a Mom is what you make it to be.

Meal Planning

Meal planning can be as simple or complex as you want it to be. Meals can be planned out for a week or even a month.

Fun in the Snow

On Sunday afternoon, Sophia spent some time with Grandma while we had some one on one time with Katie. She needed it so much.

It was so nice outside that day, nearly 30 degrees. It was a perfect day to play outside. So of course we took Katie outside to have some fun in the sun snow.

Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever. You know how that feels? Well, not only was I having cabin fever, so was my girls. We haven't been out of the house since the end of 2013. It has been too cold to take them outside. -40 windchill is way too cold.

Lemon Chicken, Broccoli, and Rice

Lemon chicken and broccoli  is one of my favorite recipes to cook. It's simple to make. Plus it's healthy. I pair my lemon chicken and broccoli with the Rice a Roni Long Grain and Wild Rice. Sometimes it's easier to make a box of rice instead of seasoning your own rice. Plus I like the seasoning they use.

Homemade Fries

Homemade fries are so much better than frozen. Fries can be added as a side with hamburgers or hot dogs.

Kitchen Sink: Before and After

Over this weekend, we put in a new kitchen sink, faucet, garbage disposal, and new pipes. Why? We weren't updating our kitchen because we wanted to; we needed to. Of course eventually we want to do a whole remodel of our kitchen. But that is for another time down the road.

Chicken Bake

One thing I really like to bake in the wintertime is my chicken bake. There are several ways that I make it.  I either place stuffing or french fried onions on top. It depends on which topping I feel like. You can use frozen or fresh vegetables. Either way it tastes good. I use a mixture of broccoli and cauliflower and sometimes carrots. Instead of sour cream, I use plain greek yogurt. You can't tell it's greek yogurt.

Entryway Organization

Is your entryway a mess? Is it hard to keep everything in order? Do you need some ideas to clean it up? There are so many possibilities to add organization to your entryway. It can be anywhere from a build-in to a simple bench or small table. Even a simple bookcase will do the job. You can add baskets to keep items in such as hats, gloves, and scarves. Add a decorative touch with accent pillows on the seating area.

Labels for Organization

Label everything. They help make your space look more organized and help you and others keep it organized. Labels can be put on anything throughout your house. Most of the labels that I have are in my kitchen and bathroom.
